Affiliate Marketing: Not For Everyone

Affiliate Marketing is probably the fastest growing niches of the “how to make money online” market today. Why?

Little or no start up cost, you do not need a product, you do not need a website, services like Clickbank provide all the service and you can earn up to 75% commission per sale.

If it is so easy, why do so many Internet marketers fail miserably? One reason is that new marketers are  sucked in by hyped up claims of overnight success, only to later discover that  making money online takes real work.

By the time they learn that it is not quite as easy as they expected, they rack their brain trying to make it work until they reach the end of their rope.

If you’re at this point in your online business, maybe it’s time to rethink things and start afresh.

While earning money online is not as easy as some of the gurus would have you believe, you can make it with some old fashioned brainstorming and a game plan that works.

What you need is a plan; a concise, specific plan of attack as opposed to a hit-or-miss approach.

Beyond the success stories, every super-affiliate or guru has worked their butt off to achieve the level of success they have today. A a little due diligence reveals that it takes about 3 years to develop a business online that results in a stable monthly income.

The super-affiliates that you read about or whose lists you’ve joined didn’t get that way overnight, despite the sales claims that are made in their product promotions.

“How To” affiliate marketing guides, videos and other tools do work. Some work better than others; but the fact remains that no eBook will ever replace reasonableness, ingenuity and sweat equity.

The abiding lesson I’ve learned about making money online is this – plan your work and work your plan. Your breakthrough to on line success will soon come.

The journey of the Internet Marketer can be likened to that of a tradesman.

The Journeyman Carpenter does not start out as a master, but an apprentice.

Apprentice Carpenters learn through in-class instruction and hands-on training, working under the guidance of experienced journeymen. Apprentice Carpenters receive compensation while enrolled in training programs, and their rate of pay is usually half that awarded to experienced carpenters, known as journeymen.

The average apprenticeship takes 4 years to complete.

Keep in mind, during this four year journey, the apprentice learns in two ways; classroom instruction and hands-on experience. They learn the fundamentals of carpentry, covering areas like safety, tools and equipment, and framing and finishing. Apprentice Carpenters also practice basic techniques to develop the necessary skills for a career in carpentry.

Likewise, no one starts out as a super-affiliate/guru. We all start as “newbies” or if you prefer as apprentices.
As Affiliate marketers, we learn through online tutorials, eBook guides, videos, audios and webinars/seminars and even conferences.

Skills like, web design, list building, copy-writing, video marketing, article writing, ad-swaps, traffic generation are not gleaned or perfected overnight. In fact, the terms and processes are brand new to most individuals getting started.

Those who want to lower the learning curve and become ‘journeyman’ Online marketers are even willing to pay qualified people thousands of dollars to personally educate them.

But in the end, it takes discipline and quality time to accomplish success.

More important though than the assimilation of facts, is taking ACTION.

Analysis paralysis is another contributing factor that causes so many internet marketers to fail! They get glued in the planning stage.

Instead of  wasting time analyzing the latest, greatest method being pitched; find a system and work that system until it creates results. That is the only real way to learn the Online business and earn money at the same time.

I guarantee you’ll be a lot smarter about what works and what doesn’t and you will be able to figure out the B.S. a mile away.

If You Don’t Know Where You’re Going You’ll End Up Somewhere Else

When I first started as an Affiliate Marketer I was really excited about what I saw as an incredible opportunity to make money doing something I love, sales. Moreover, I could do it from the comfort and convenience of my own home.
